Butter studio

Butter is the studio practice of Cari Sekendur. Combining creativity and analytical thinking, Cari takes companies to the next level of their brand expression and recognition through strategic creative execution. Her creative approach is balanced by both a research and writing background as well as a tactical business sense. These were informed by the early years of her career where she handled marketing and operations for fast-growing startups in New York City, Chicago, and Berlin. She has executed visual design, art direction, and brand strategy for a wide swath of companies, from Nike and Viacom to Other Half Brewing and Morgans Hotel Group. Her work has been exhibited in galleries from Paris to Los Angeles, and recognized by AIGA’s Eye on Design, Hypebae, and It's Nice That, among others. She is proudly queer, a recreational boxer and soccer player, and passionate about giving voice to communities that are underrepresented in the mainstream. In 2020 Butter had the pleasure of welcoming team members across the globe from NYC to Korea, Dubai, and Berlin.
