Ivar Font

Ivar is a serif typeface designed by Göran Söderström and released by Letters from Sweden in 2017. It began as a companion to Siri, but after three years of drawing the letterforms, the only shared characteristics that remain are the shapes of the terminals. Rather than a revival, it is strongly influenced by the grace and sturdy construction of Times, and refers to dependable mid-1900s text faces rooted in 16th- and 17th-century designs. Ivar is issued in three optical sizes—Text, Headline, and Display—each with four weights and matching italics; a high-contrast fourth size, Ivar Fine, followed in 2020.
