Monument Grotesk Mono Font

Monument Grotesk Mono is the monospaced cut of Monument Grotesk, digitized and reinterpreted by the Swiss studio Kasper-Florio from contours they found in an online scan of Palmer & Rey’s 1884 New Specimen Book. Compelled by the letterforms’ compact skeleton, high vertical contrast, and surprisingly sharp end strokes, they recast the design for contemporary use, giving it honest, unrefined, idiosyncratic shapes and a raw, unpolished feel. The family has served as Kasper-Florio’s house typeface and has been available from ABC Dinamo since 2018, with Mono issued alongside proportional, condensed, and semi-mono versions.
