Background Remover
Remove image backgrounds in your browser and export a full-resolution transparent PNG. Refine hair, products, and difficult edges without uploading the source image.
Your files stay in this browser. Nothing you select is uploaded to MaxiBestOf. BiRefNet and the optional SlimSAM brush are fetched from Hugging Face when needed, so Hugging Face receives normal model-file requests.
Practical guidance
Start with a clean subject, finish at the edge
Use a photograph with one clear person, product, animal, or object. After the first cut, drag the comparison handle over hair, translucent materials, shadows, and small gaps.
Cut tightness makes the matte more decisive. Edge softness helps natural details blend into a new surface. Use the manual brush for precise restoration or erasing, and the magic brush when a whole missed object needs correction.
Export notes
Transparent PNG or a ready-made surface
Transparent PNG is the flexible choice for layout work. White, black, or a custom solid background gives you a finished image for a presentation, store listing, or social composition.
Turn on trimming to remove empty outer pixels. Leave it off when the source canvas position matters in a component library or campaign system.

Frequently asked questions
Does MaxiBestOf upload my image?
No. Decoding, background removal, retouching, compositing, and PNG export happen in your browser. Hugging Face receives the normal request for the open-source model files, including your IP address, but it never receives the selected image.
Why is the first run slower?
The browser downloads the 94 MB BiRefNet model after you select the first image and caches the response. The optional SlimSAM correction models add about 13 MB only when you enable the magic brush.
What resolution is exported?
The PNG export uses the original image resolution up to a 4096-pixel longest edge. Processing larger source images is capped to keep memory use predictable on laptops and phones.
