Akkurat is a static sans-serif typeface designed by Laurenz Brunner and released by Lineto in April 2004, his first published design. It pairs the craft of classic sans serifs with a contemporary, neo-modernist construction, aiming for technical precision, down-to-earth robustness, reliability, and neutrality associated with Swiss values rather than trend or elegance. Brunner later added Thin and Black to the original three weights and, from 2019, extended the family into Cyrillic, Greek, Hebrew, Arabic, Devanagari, and Vietnamese. The design’s influence helped make revisiting local neo-modernist idioms a common practice in contemporary type design.
